We Survive

no matter the circumstances man somehow survives, even when he ought not to.......

The child has grown old into life

Remembering the friendships and the fights

The boy who found love round the corner

Now Counts the days and the nights

Dreaming and living a life full of choices

Always seeking new horizons, new delights

Travelling earth for a new beginning

Each sunset brings a new sight

Standing alone at the apex of success

We overcome our fear of height

Learning to live in the material world

Somewhere we exchange right for might

Caught unaware in midst of something

We all survive, till the soul takes flight

It is surprising what we can survive. Sometimes I think it is best be 'unaware' of that 'something'. Your poem is very philosophical, for it is true that 'somewhere we exchange right for might.'. Well, not everyone, but those that have might seem to think they are right!

I am not sure how but survival is a strong trait in humans, as your poem shows, there is a strength that seems to shape us through the bad and through the good, perhaps a good thing to have such resolve in such times...
