THE VICEGERNTA Poem by WILDERNESSI live in a world of deception and ruse Have shut my eyes from the truth. Money will buy happiness, I believe Devious plans of richness, I conceive. All pleasures are for body in whole Nothing for the thirsty starving soul. We are slaves to our cardinal desires Chasing fantasies, playing with fires. Look what has man turned into, Machine for five days, animal for two. My divine wings have burned, Into animal or worse I have turned. The vicegerent of God, once raised high, Now the angels look at me and sigh.
