Hey Satan

I know your game.

You can't lure me

with riches or with fame.

You whisper your thoughts

to ignite a new flame.

And corrupt the hearts

giving old sins new name.

Don't feed my desires

this soul you won't tame.

Yes you are the enemy

friend to gents and dames.

Hey Satan

the fight is on

no matter how many you claim.

The original Hebrew word for Satan is translated as "Adversary". I'm fact, Satan is within our very hearts and minds. He is there when we battle ourselves internally; doubting ourselves, questioning ourselves. Satan is the thought that tells you; Do this thing, even if you feel you shouldn't, the benefit is sweet now, even if the future consequence is inevitable. But the Lord is also within us as well, guiding us toward unity within. The Lord is the thought that says; You know what is right, and the benefit will be sweet forever if you do it. We choose who wins the battle; The Adversary that is uncertainty, or the being within that is most certain. Great work, WILDERNESS.

This took me to a different place...and I'm left with the compelling feeling of saying,
Satan is in EVERY COUNTRY in the world and tries many different tactics to lure fools and the ignorant.
From illusions and riches promised, to virgins, false profits and kidnapping children to train in unwanted wars.

Great write! Though seriously, i think we overestimate his power.......he can only do to us what we allow......he cannot tempt us if we do not allow it.......so for me, the bigger foe is my own sinful nature, which becomes the gear putting evil schemes in motion...... :)
