A DAY TO FORGETA Poem by WILDERNESSThis poem was inspired by a scene I saw beside the highway, sometime back. Though I wrote it many months back, did not publish it 'cause it is so sad. But here it is for all and sundry to read now....A Day To Forget
The sun hid behind the cloud The wind ceased to blow
The little boy stood on the roadside calling his mother on the far side with speeding cars in between and a desire to reach mom's arms. Sensing the impending danger “Stay there”, she yelled at him. The little boy wouldn’t wait And the cars won’t let up Speeding past on the highway Oblivious of the mother and child. Her heart raced and palms sweated Frantically waving the cars to stop, Motioning the boy to stay put, but He just wants to be with her. The boy looked at his mother and Closed his eyes, then ran across the road. She screamed, and fell down
