The Republic (can) Bird

The Republic (can) Bird

A Poem by SKIP Faherty

Once Bold. With earned pride. Known and Respected. Heard World Wide.

Free in Flight, Feathers breezing. Sight wide and wise. Once wanted. Respected.

Now you feed on those. Who supported. Wanted. Including your own.

Flight Forgotten. For the feeders of Greed. Those who have taken. Your freedom.

Red your Tea of wealth. Floating gluttony you bathe your health. Self-made  sovereignty,

For the few.

Protected with brutally.  the others youth. Survive you may. Waste is your way.

Cowardly creeping, Lying to your prey. Functions daily. How long unknown.
