The Dream

The Dream

A Poem by SKIP Faherty

The Dream

Clouded memories of the past.  Awakening in the sweat of forgetfulness. Where have we been? Truth lost, to unfold in the wrath of wanting. Possessing undone tasks.  Wavering our goals for the want of wealth. That is our dream?

Patience in the fog of nothing. Used as the tool of mental corruption. Required vanquished existence.  Lost the longing to advance. Learning defeated thought, taking its place in history. Living for the moment, blinded with the unreachable goal. Set by others. That is the dream?

World, Earth unstable. The Entrusted responsibility, ignored for the raping. Taking from others in the name of Interest. Lives wasted, youth misled. Death their glory. We forgot the Dream.

Awake, Hope cannot be vanquished. Needed is only the want to save and do for others.  Bring back the memory of what we promised. The truth of the future cannot be lost.

Return to our time in the past. Where the greats were able to lead.  Reminding us of the injuries done in another’s name. Vanishing  the wounds of hate. Stilling the injuries of lies. With simple and wanted words, without the ferocity of a weapon. That is my dream.
