A poor farmer Panchananda Das, called as Panchu Da by his known people, lived in a wattle made hut in a hamlet. He had nothing left by his ancestor except a hut, few poultries and a wet land midst of agricultural lands adjacent to the village. He is a born struggler and an optimistic towards his own labor with everlasting simper on his wrinkled black face. He has only son whose mother passes away after giving him birth. But the poor father never keeps his son onetime a day starves nor forgets to provide kindness to his child. Seasons change as the time goes but Panchananda never hate to go for work even illness cant stop him to love for the land where he goes for cultivating and often he is addicted to catch fish with fishing rods to his nearby ponds specially at the time of rainy season. His struggle for living and farming is pathetic as if the only bamboo trees on the both side of a snaky path towards his hut always keep the acknowledgement of his struggle. His son Sidhharth Shankar Das alias Sidhu grows up with the mud and dust, playing football at the village end, tip-cat etc. and schooling in the village. He loves to study and likes to acquire knowledge to fulfill his any curiosity. He studies at night on oil-lamp and only companions like lizard on the muddy wall and cockroach on the floor was his observer. He has a dog Bholu who is as stupid as brilliant the boy was. Bholu often create menace to the poultries and the passer by. Bholu always waits for his master on the half way whenever he sniffs that his master is about to come back to the hut. The boy shares his emotion and longs for something to Bholu and often hugs as if it is his mother. Many obstacles came while growing up but Sidhu is also like his father not to give up till end. As he grows he cycles to sub urban high school and after his father eternal struggle get chances in medical studies with scholarship. In between this father grows old and his struggle becomes hard to survive. Panchananda is still happy with his land and fishing. Another family reside just beside them feel happier to see Panchu Da’s son as a doctor whenever he comes to village during his medical studies they like to go to him for general check up. A colleen, Rooposhi, a black beauty of a farmer’s family is nearest friend and neighbor to him from very early childhood days. She used to husk peeling coco, rear up hens and duck. Actually she gradually falls in love with the doc. One day the farmer came to know his son is getting chance to FRCS from foreign. The doc came to village to meet his father. Colleen gets little bit more nearest to him and feel proud of his achievement and progress though she is illiterate. She only knows about Sidhu is that he is a big doctor and Sidhu can heal any diseases. Rooposhi the colleen gives him handicraft made of bamboo stem as a souvenir. He likes it and keeps it. He goes for further studies there in foreign and father gets involved in his early struggle and his only beloved Bholu left alone. As the time passes by Bholu becomes stiffed and old and suddenly dies. No contacts with his master. Rooposhi the colleen has to marry a tribal guy with customary act as according to their parent she is growing old enough. She quietly and with a deep craves of love for doc cries lonely but can’t share her emotion or feelings in front of anybody. Farmer father still survives with his struggle and one day hi son sends him lots of money. The farmer is very happy and expresses it to his known faces. Then one day the doc came to India back. At first he spends his few days in metro city and attends several meetings in Delhi and Mumbai. He becomes a renowned doctor to his country. He came in Mercedes with many designated friends to his village. Among them few can’t belief he is from this village. His father can’t recognize him with his poor eyes. He meets his father and gives money and then says he has to go from here. Father asked where he will stay though he has his house and land while he told his father to go with him later. He goes to a metro city. He does job in big private hospitals, nursing homes. He gets reputed within few years. He took once with him his old father. Father convinces him to marry. At last he married to a high profile city girl. Father doesn’t get adjusted in this society. Panchananda sometimes asks his in law about pond in the city where he can go for fishing. Richa Sharma Das, wife of doc often flummoxed by her father in law’s question. Father feels deeply void in the bustle of updated city life. He sometimes in delusion replaces the busy city with calm meadows where sheaves are grazing and often asks passer by about pond. The security guard once takes him beside a sea along with a fishing-rod but the farmer feel sorry and doesn’t find any interest there. Son and daughter-in-law both al the time were not with him because their life is full of busy and business. Father is in a lonely poor condition could not find any zest of life though every luxury was there to have. He realizes some troublesome from his attitude. She knows business and tried him always to organize a big one. Doc’s wife was involved in corporate and events sometime. Doc adjusted everything but he first realizes about his duty when his wife become wayward. Many friends suggested for break up and new marriage. While this thing happens his hospital made a mistake for a life. The story flooded everywhere. It was blamed that for money they can’t help a life. Doc came to conference and clear for saving his reputation it was not for money but for may be some mistake by the hospital staff or late admission of the victim. He knew then what happened and wants to eliminate his name from big private hospital or corporate agencies. His wife quarrels with him and makes distance. His father in his countryside has a serious disease and lying in Operation Theater. He came quickly and tried but his hand was shaking and he can’t make it successful. He weeps lonely and recall his father’s struggle for him. He came to his village for ever and became drunkard. No communication with the world even with his business. In his remote village no body knew who he was. To them he is a simple doc. He made a diagnostic centre to cure hapless and helpless. His wife never tried to find him but sometimes suspect may be he is dead. She doesn’t know his whereabouts. In the meantime Mayuri who is now divorced return to her village and sees what her admiration is doing. She adores him and again comes closer to assist him and also in same time to look after him. From this remote village many dangerous patients getting relief in behalf of few bucks and slowly becomes a big Sebaniketan. A journalist observed the charisma and found the man of big heart. Story is made for him and his duty for society. He became the iconic figure to young generation and teasingly said Mad Doc by his divorced wife. Many dignified people of the country come to him now to pay respects this person and panelizes him for the big awards. It became history but the doc didn’t stop neither to drink nor his duty. He died one day and his body was found in the paddy field. A massive crowd gathers, runs to his funeral. And the colleen also suicide herself silently capturing entire story inside her eyes and heart.
