Infinity in Ink

Infinity in Ink

A Poem by Ezekiel Silver
"

Year poem was written: 2014

"

      Eternal expression has been engraved,

          forged by the mighty pen.

Bridging the gap between two souls,

          despite the split of centuries.

Hope given renewal in the vast hearts,

          the great antidote for despair.

Made by simple and feeble words,

          revigerating the human spirit.

      A legacy of tremendous beauty,

          is forever given immortality.

The power of words will never wain,

and they will always live on.

Strokes on the parchment are permanent in history,

          always standing strong.

Happiness and passion will last within,

          the infinity in ink.

Read a Dryden, Hemingway or Kahlil Gibran. The power of the words can save us if we read with open heart and mind. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.

This is a tour de force in writing poetry. I love the way you have written a poem dedicated to writing itself, its ability to transcend the time in which it is written and its ability to rouse and define us. Superb work.

It is quite breathtaking. Such deep meaning painted by the brushes of truth. A truth so strong that most men won't be able to phantom it. Words will always live on and will stand the test of time, more effective than the violence and shedding of blood, more attentive to time and events. Words will tell what was,is and will be....That was really beautiful. Thank you,Ezekiel.
