Wicked Betrayal

Wicked Betrayal

A Poem by Ezekiel Silver
"

Year poem was written: 2013

"
Great wings of magnificence are defiled.
           Burned asunder by their owner.
A servant of the light and the just dwells in darkness.
Turning into a soldier of cruelty.

Envious of a sinful people chosen as prodigals.
           Slaughtering them in vengeance.
Banished to a barren wasteland fertile with pestilence.
           A dark place named hell.

He still pays the penance of his steep crime of,
           a wicked betrayal.

Good poem.
But don't you mean "pennance" instead of "pennants"?
