i saw it fly

i saw it fly

A Poem by Eyudo

I saw it fly

Staring up as it weaved the clouds
Scaly skin and a thousand pounds
Long tailed and mirrored eye
And I saw it fly

Smoke billowed from its mouth
It was gliding heading south
Green skin and boney wings
In its claws were jewels and things

Diving down to the ground
A thud as it land
It roars and teeth show
Five claws upon each hand

Its belly plated
And it walks on all four
Its majestic expression
As if it will need to settle a score

Then it turned and looked at me
And in its eyes I could see
The will to stay unseen and be free
And in its face it held that plea

I nodded to and he snorted back
Accepting my silence
Then its wings flapped and went up high
And I saw it fly
