a dozen days of destructionA Poem by Eyudo
A dozen days
of destruction A foretelling of the chaos A warning and a sign 12 days must be paid off With disaster in that time And these days came From with all mercy was reframed On the first day of destruction Winds picked up real slow Causing massive tornado That tore across the lands On the second day of destruction Storm clouds gathered high They caused lightning strike and rain Fallen trees and total pain On the third day of destruction Water flooded many places Streams built up and rivers in races Sweeping away in anything in the way On the fourth day of destruction The water drew far back The tidal waves came with a crash Obliterating anything that once could stand On the fifth day of destruction Hail pounded the earth In size with heavy girth Smashing into things On the sixth day of destruction Blizzards froze and snow covered Barricading in those who suffer And the cold ate away at all the green On the seventh day of destruction Volcanic eruptions blew Melting things to ash it touched And all we ever knew On the eighth day of destruction Blazing fires burned real hot Eating away woodland spots And creating heat and havoc too On the ninth day of destruction A shower of meteors struck Turning hills into holes With caters and awful luck On the tenth day of destruction Earthquakes shattered rocks Large things just crumbled down And cracks opened wide and broke the docks On the eleventh day of destruction Animals raged free And rampaged in every city And broke whatever was On the final day of destruction Demons roamed and tortured Finishing what still lived And laughing at the damage Then on the thirteenth day An eclipse covered the whole sun Slowly covering the way After the payment was done Pitch black was the world And no survivors could see Then once the light came back All was fixed And the time to restart began © 2009 Eyudo |
