the key to my heart

the key to my heart

The key to my heart

You may have the key to my house

You may have the key to my car

Out of my heart you will not be doused

Even if the problem has gone to far

You may have the key to my journal

You may have the key to my closet

To me you’re not infernal

If my stuff is gone, I’ll know who caused it

One thing I know for sure

You have the key to my heart

Through hard times we will endure

But I love you for sure

Incase you lose the key

There’s a spare under the mat!

Because you’re a key

The key to happiness

'Twas an okay poem. It's definitely an easy read, though the rhyme scheme seemed forced and the number of syllables was pretty awkward, varying between long line and short line. Still, it was a lovely poem. How ingenious to compare the material world to the heart. Nice.
