the shopkeeper

the shopkeeper

A Poem by Eyudo

The shopkeeper

I’m glad I say, that you wandered inside

To my quaint little shop on the hill side

Here you not need to bring a thing

All that’s required is an open mind and to be living

I have many a treasures kept in here

Gold and things and silver gear

I have a lot of items for sale

Beautiful things with a worth to scale

Every little thing in here

Is priceless

Yet for you my good friend

It’s free

Now it really sounds too good

But or course there is a catch

Although it’s much a very simple task

Many have failed by first thought of it

All that is needed to buy my treasures

Is to be able to earn the pleasures

Be worthy to me at more than just a glance

It’s not good enough to impress me with talents and dance

All I want to see is a smidge of proof

To be able to make your sale good sir

And have a job well done laid at my feet

I’d love to give you all these things

But first I must see what I ask

I am the shopkeeper

I want you, to me, to tell

What do I sell?

Just think about it and answer now
