SONG: her ghostly presence

SONG: her ghostly presence

A Poem by Eyudo

Her ghostly presence

~Verse 1 ~

A cold wind blew through

And all I think of is you

It lingers through the way

Maybe it will never go away

~Verse 2~

The presence is here

I see the reflection in the mirror

Remembering how it use to be

Before she died it’d be us you’d see

~Verse 3~

Her bodies gone but her Spirit stays

God sent her back one day

Is it to haunt me? Or did she miss me?

Something’s here that’s only a ghostly presence

~Verse 4 ~

She’s gone!

Why’d she go?

She’s back here in a form no one knows

I see her everywhere

She’s not really there

She is here

Her presence is near

~Chorus~

As I sleep I dream away

And know she’s never coming home

I’m up late again waiting at the door

But the doctor said she’s gone forever more

I wait here and she appears

But it’s only her ghostly presence

~Verse 5~

I worry not

But she’s in every thought

I miss her so

My heart does know

~Verse 6~

“Now,” they said

She was in the hospital bed

“It’s incurable,

I’m sorry.”

~Verse 7~

I spoke to her

Eyes a blur

Tears let on

She will be gone

~Verse 8~

One day left

Not much time left

We spend the rest

Safe in each others arms and minds

~Chorus~

As I sleep I dream away

And know she’s never coming home

I’m up late again waiting at the door

But the doctor said she’s gone forever more

I wait here and she appears

But it’s only her ghostly presence

~Verse 9~

And she’ll never come home

But she’ll never be alone

I feel like a stone

Chills run in my bones

~Verse 10~

“Isn’t there anything you can do?” I say

“No sir, not today,

She will die, I know how you feel.”

“No you don’t!” I yell, “You’re a doctor

This is part of the deal!”

~Chorus~

As I sleep I dream away

And know she’s never coming home

I’m up late again waiting at the door

But the doctor said she’s gone forever more

I wait here and she appears

But it’s only her ghostly presence

~Verse 11~

I miss her so much

I fear one day she wont return

These thoughts are rough

That one day she won’t appear

~Verse 12~

I feel so bad

But she wouldn’t want me to be sad

She appears one final time

At my bed side

~Verse 13~

“I wont be able to come back anymore

So has said the lord

But don’t worry now.” she says

“I’m an angel.”
