The curtains rise and all the eyes
Are staring on the stage
The audience quiet to a dull riot
They play’s about to begin
A man comes out and gives a shout
What it will be about
Then he leaves and the watchers breathe
Enjoyment is theirs tonight
The actors come and then some
And start to do their thing
They speak aloud in front of the crowd
And sometimes even sing
They dance around and make sounds
That the audience laugh to
Then later all an actor falls
But spectators don’t really care
Then in one scene, an accident is seen
And the audience all gasp
The character dies and the audience cries
Why is it so? They just cant grasp
Then near end a hero to fend
Things are going well
The good guy wins against enemy sin
The plot was easy to sell
Then it ends and it sends
A jolt through the watchers
They stand proud and clap aloud
“encore” they would call
As the curtains fall
