Chapter 8: HerA Chapter by Eyudoread to see
Her I somehow was taken to the front of my house. I staggered up the stairs and into the unlocked door. There sitting on the couch in the living room was a person from my past that I had forgotten about and still didn’t quite remember. She only looked at me when I entered. I wouldn’t have been able to defend myself if I would have had too. I was already bruised and bleeding. “Who…who are…are you?” I managed to stammer out. “Oh my God! What happened to you? You poor guy.” She said. “J...J...J...Just a little…f...f...fight...t.” I said painfully, then slowly walked to the couch and fell down on it next to her. “You pRobably don’t remember me.” She said, “But you honestly must trust me. I know where your father and the little boy are.” She said. I just stared. “My name is Amanda and I use to live here until we had to move.” “Why did you have to move?” I asked. “Well, we couldn’t afford the bills anymore…” she said. “So where do you live no?” I asked. “No where…we can’t afford anything right now. I mean, I can’t even find my father!” she said as she started to cry. I put my arm around her and told her it would be all right. She didn’t seem to mind it. “You can stay here tonight of course, I couldn’t just put you back out,” I said, “but we should be close at all times…….for safety reasons.” I caught myself with. She scooted over to me until there was no hip space between us. I felt an odd connection, and then got a little nervous alone for the night with her. We talked awhile and I rested and healed while we did. She was great, and such personality she had. Beautiful too, with some smarts to show as well, almost perfect. But that’s too distracting. Anyways, later on, it grew late. Darkness fell and we locked and barricaded the doors and windows. We went up to our beds, mine being in my room and hers in my dads, after our good nights. I dreamed that night though. It was a time deep into my childhood when I was so little. There was a small girl who lived next store, about my age of six or seven. We were playing together and very happy. Then I flashed off to my experiences yesterday and remembered those. But flashed back to the dream and the creatures came and tore us apart from each other. That was the end when I woke up in the morning. Her name did sound familiar now. The next morning, minutes after the dream ended, I woke and went to get Amanda up too. I walked into my dad’s room and immediately noticed she wasn’t in the bed. Then I heard gunshots from outside the house. That was never a good thing. I ran back into my room and grabbed the handgun off the dresser then surged down the stairs and outside. I dint even realize the S.P.A.C.E. box was missing either. Or the fact that the door was wide open and wasn’t barricaded now. First thing I saw was in the front yard were two people. One was Amanda on the ground, trapped by the other one. And indeed the other one was Rob, the one who had been trying to kill me for some reason all along, although he must have known what the elemental creatures in the tunnel knew. I was the only one who could defeat him? He stood over her with a grin and a vile of something tilted at her almost ready to spill. It was the virus that we couldn’t get back from him. Ok now, it was my time to try to and something right…..”Stop!” I yelled. He turned his head at the noise and smiled when he saw who it was. He stood up and slowly started to walk over to me. I shot him, aiming well, but the bullets really seemed to do no good but to put holes in his clothes. I was in trouble now. I saw something small creeping around the yard, and it made its way to Amanda. She whispered something to it and it started our way. It looked like a small goblin. I’m sure he was thieving. He came up behind Rob’s leg and jumped up onto his back while he was walking to me. Then he went to his throat and took him down. Coins fell from Robs pockets after he hit the ground. The goblin took them and then ran. Amanda stood up and came over to me. “I told the little guy what he had so he would attack; you know most goblins will kill for something they want.” She said. Didn’t matter, as long as I was safe. “Ok…..are you ok though?” I asked her. “Yeah, I’m fine now. You saved me from that. Thank you so much.” she said gratefully, and then kissed me on the lips. I smiled after and she did too. We said nothing more.
We went in after that and I cooked breakfast for us both. Just something simple really. I knew how to cook, but didn’t like it too much. Later after we had eaten and talked some, I did the dishes and then went into the living room to talk with her. She was playing a video game on the TV when I walked in. But she shut it off and turned the news on about what was happening after. She muted it though, too sad to hear. She smiled when she saw me come it. I sat on the cough next to her. “So you know where my dad and Tj are right?” I said. “Could they possibly be next store where you use to actually live?” I secretly accused. “So you do remember me then huh?” she said. “Yeah, I dreamed of the memories I guess. I know now though.” I told her, “ Why didn’t you just tell me the truth?” I asked. She pondered a moment. “Well, I dint really want you to remember everything and how we were split, it was too sad. But also for another reason…I also sorta…well, there is…something else…I sorta…well, I…” And of course we were interrupted by a knock on the door. We both just ignored it, but it scattered our thoughts and we accidentally switched subjects. “I made another batch of vials of the cure.” I said. A knock again. The same we ignored it. “So where are my dada and Tj then? You said you knew and I’m really worried about them and stuff.” I said. This time that knocking was a tremendous banging on the front door. I decided to answer it not really out of curiosity, but to stop its interrupting and annoyance. “Hold on.” I said, and walked over to the door. I opened the door slowly and peaked outside. All I could see was a large set object on the front step. I opened the door completely and a massive crate fell over into the doorway. A note was taped to the side, but when I peaked outside, there was no sign of anyone. I shut the door and tried to pull open the crate from the side after I stood it back up. It was stuck, so I ripped the note off and read it first. Amanda told me to read it loud, so I did for both of us to hear it. I ripped the tape off that held it closed on the delivery by whoever had brought it to the front door. They mad off pretty quick after they knocked. Anyways, here’s what was written in pink ink for some reason:
Rotten little brat, Here these two are back, I decided that was too easy and I would rather a challenge than taking this candy from you the baby, so young and not understanding of others pains. You’ll see still, I haven’t forgotten and they will die sometime soon anyways. Take’em and maybe try to make it harder to kill you all. I’ll get you all at once, be warned child. I don’t play fair or nice. -Rob- It was obvious now what was in there. I kicked the crate to loosen the nails and then tried to pry it open again. This time it came off and landed a few feet across the way with me with I fell back. Two lifeless looking corpses fell out of the opened crate. One big man, and one little boy. It was Tj and my dad just like I had thought! I went back over and tried to stand them up right, but they just fell back down, still unconscious I thought. They finally started to twitch and move on the floor. Always a good sign. Then hey woke up in a daze slowly. They struggled a moment, but were able to stand in there wooziness. “What happened?” Tj asked holding his forehead. “You guys were kidnapped by Rob, but he brought you back for some reason.” I said, “ did he do anything to you guys while you were with him that you can remember?” they were unresponsive. I snapped my fingers in front of them and they, almost like out of a trance, woke to realize where they were again. “Bj is that you?” my dad said as he headed for the couch. He looked over at Amanda sitting there. “You’re a familiar face from the past. I recognized you. Your Randy’s little girl aren’t you?” he said as he smiled. He sat down. “Welcome back. It’s nice to see you again.” Amanda only smiled at him. “So where did he take you?” I asked again after that little reunion. “I can’t remember too much,” he started, “but I do remember him taking us to a graveyard in the city somewhere. It was a specific tombstone in that back, very old and desecrated. It was leaning to the left somewhat. He pushed it straight and the grave opened to where a person should have been buried, but instead it was passage way underground. He took us down there and put us in that tiny crate, then knocked us out with some sort of chemical so we would stay quiet. That’s all I remember till that point.” he finished. “Do you at least remember what the tomb stone said?” I questioned. “Yeah, um…it said: Rob Lucifer, died, ages of ages and time time again. Never missed because never really dead. That was it though. Seemed to make no sense to Me.” he said. “No, it doesn’t, I don’t get it, so when did he die?” Amanda added. Maybe we should go and search the Internet for his name then,” my dad suggested, “ it may give us useful information on him. There is a laptop up stairs under my bed we can use. Lets go.” he said, and we all headed upstairs to look on this devilish fiend. Chapter 8 © 2008 Eyudo |
