chapter 7: face to face with himA Chapter by Eyudoread to see
Face to face with him We didn’t land on ground and dirt though, we actually landed in water. “Is everyone ok?” my dad asked after the head count was right and everyone emerged from the water. Tj and I spoke to say we were all good, but the unknown man didn’t get a chance in the role call because he was dragged under the murky water by another horrific thing. “Bj! Look!” Tj exclaimed, “Something has us surrounded!” “Stay still.” my dad added. There was indeed something around us. We could see dark green shadows moving around in the lighter green waters. One of them leaped out of the water and over our heads. It was an algae covered, half rotted flesh off the bone zombie. They had tall long fins on their arms, legs, backs, and one on their head. They were a greenish color with even darker green fins. They saw us and moved their circle in tighter around us. An explosion hit us like bricks and blew us out of the water after they had completely enclosed us. We landed in the mud off the shorelines of the waters where we passed out from the initial shock and stunning of the explosion. A sign stood tall and almost new looking next to us. It read: Area 26-b: zombie Mine Lake. Caution! Creatures will self-destruct if provoked. When I woke from it, I stood up, stretched, and then looked around some. No one was there anymore. Tj and my father were gone somehow. I looked around to see I was in a yard of bones. Most weren’t human, but I felt that there were a few that were. There was another explosion in the water that startled me. I looked to the source to notice it wasn’t another creature. It was a submarine that emerged from the depths of the lake. It sat there and I heard propellers rumble to a stop. Then the top hatch creaked open. Worst of all, the man with the golden eyes stepped up and out to the top of it. He stood in front of the hatch on top, grinning ear to ear while staring at me. “I bet your wondering where your partners are, aren’t you little man?” he asked. I nodded the vengeance in my eyes. I knew he was the one who made them vanish. It had to be; no one else knew they were gone yet. “Well, if you must know, I have them, obviously. And do you know what my plans are with them?” he asked. I shook my head this time, not taking my eyes off him. “Well, death sounds fair doesn’t it? I think so.” The grin widened somehow. “Why?” I asked sternly and in the utmost serious of manners, “why are you doing all this? What reason could you possible have to do this mayhem?” He huffed. “You really want to know that?” he said. I nodded. “Fine then! No harm in telling. It’s all because of humans! Being who I am, the son of Lucifer, the devil, and how my life has been spent, torture was all I knew. But not torturing, but being tortured by there cruelties. They don’t deserve what they have, and I feel the obligation to help rid them of themselves! I was fostered for as long as I could remember, being from family after family because I would live longer than them for some reason. They would abuse and beat me mercilessly. So I was able to find of my real dad and learn the immortality and powers I did possess.” He paused a minute to make sure I was still listening. “So I made a plan you see. After all this research and patience in waiting, I learned. I wanted to get this secret virus, though I thought not it would work. But my further research and study of it revealed something amazing and useful to me. The eye jelly of any living thing could be used to combine with the virus to be able to control them. Just add the stuff, then the virus, and they obey your all-commanding ways. So I could control the dead more than just down in hell. Revenge would, and will, be mine. Now I think I’ll sit back and watch the fight.” He finished with. That made me think. “Wait! What fight?” I said. “Oh! Yeah, the one between you and him.” He said calmly as a door on the sub dropped open and the front end landed on the shore. I felt slight vibrations as something moved inside. This newly made creature, which I had never seen before, stepped out. He was completely black. He was covered in bright red veins, almost as if you could see his bloods flow. Then, he was missing his left eye, but instead was a targeting pad with a plus in the center for aim. Very muscular and intimidating. Although he was only as tall as me, but much more menacing and seemed capable of bad damage.
“You think this is a game or something don’t you?” I accused him. “Yes, in fact I do and so far I’m winning.” he said with a malicious laugh. “Well then, let your game begin. And you better play good and hard, cause I’m going to give you all I got buddy. I’m gonna get you and take you out, so prepare yourself.” I said. He laughed at the thought of a teenager beating him of all people. And then the zombie charged at me with no warning and slammed me to a decayed wall of brick behind me. There were a few of them around. I fell down in pain. I didn’t even have a chance to get back up before he grabbed me by my leg. He lifted me up high and swung me around some. Then he let go and I flew into a pile of bones across the way. I stood up wearily ad watched him do something none of the others had been able to do so far. He leaned back and stretched his arms out, then his chest opened up in the middle as if it was a metal door. Five small missiles came out in a single file fashion into the air. I staggered away, each missile just barely missing me as they crashed behind me. I felt the heat from the third one scorch me slightly. Debris blew everywhere and of course at me too. I fetched my S.P.A.C.E. box out of my pocket and found a rocket of similar size to his, and ironically it was the first thing I grabbed. I aimed and fired right away. It went to him and through his stomach, and then he fell down twitching. He stood up halfway on one knee moments after and stared. I could see him kneeling there by the beams of light through the cracked stone ceiling, and of course, that gave me another idea. I quickly looked around and found a piece of shattered glass and picked it up. Then I aimed the light of it and into the targeted in his eye. It shot through and amplified into frying heat, his brain burned up and let off. He keeled over to the ground and rolled into the waters. I heard one last explosion in the water; it was the submarine immersing back under and away. He had gotten away again, but at least I had one this one and was still alive to celebrate it. I just roamed around, unsure where to go since up was impossible and that seemed to be where I needed to be. I was really confused to find an elevator on a track that was actually in order in the middle of this uncovered graveyard. But given how things were, where else was I to go really? I got in and pushed the lit up button that said “G” on it, most likely for ground I hoped. Then I sat down until it stopped. I rested a little while because it took awhile for it to get wherever it was going to. Finally the doors opened and I could get out. I stood up with a strong feel of hate and walked out of it. I never even questioned where that elevator came from and then where it mysteriously vanished to after. I didn’t really care either. Just glad to be safe really. But where was I?
