Happy Place

A Christian poem about broken heart in search of peace

I have to move on today

My soul needs a holiday

A spiritual getaway

An emotional runaway

in hope, faith and love to stay

Some joy and peace I pray

I want to return to my happy place

to find the way out of this maze

and from underneath this judgmental gaze

I just must extinguish this hostile blaze

I want to remember the spiritual contentment

Now all I have is sorrow and resentment

I need a break from brokenness

want to forget the existence of illness

and limits and weakness

I need a space near or far

where I can try to be a star

and reach for a greater length

and be measured by my strength

It might be a sanctuary of knowledge and wisdom

or that of heavenly kingdom

or an artistic platform or community

where they care about my individual immunity

where they want the original me

and my roots can grow a tree

My heart and soul can be free
