I Will See You Again

Coming back to a childhood love.

We met in a childhood memory
Our paths parted when the big city I left
Together we swore never to forget
In your eyes I gazed
Hugged you tight as I silently wept 
To your ear my tears whispered
"I will see you again"
Years passed, we were getting older
Everyday we talked for hours
I heard you cry, I knew your pains, your life I knew better than my own
Friends we were, lovers we turned
We were closer than ever
"I will see you again"
I call one night, not but two words I said
"Come outside"
There you were eight years later
A boy I left, a man I found
You held me in your arms
I had never felt more alive
Our promise to never forget we had kept
Our lives as one again
This time we swore "Together We Wed"
"I did see you again"

Great, wonderful, marvelous, I just love story telling through poetry. (as you can tell by my stuff) I feel like it is way under used. It just adds something special, an added layer.

You used poetry masterfully here, it softened the feel even more and added a depth to this sweet story that would have been missing in a straight story telling style.
