Alone with the Stars

Alone with the Stars

A Chapter by Exxii ((Lauren)) Chem
"

This one is my character Mitchell. If things don't make sense, it's because there are breaks in between when I was writing and when my friend was writing, so, yup.

"
Mitchell strolled out of his dormitory. The hour was midnight and the stars were out. A smile escaped his small lips as his eyes stared up at the moon. The large satellite that filled the night sky was full tonight and cast a ravishing white-blue beam on the earth. It was now that Mitchell began to stroll down the path that was next to his dormitory. The official time was 12:10 and that was the time that Mitchell decided to take out his iPod and listen to some music. The shuffle button caused him to smile as he pressed it. Mitchell always enjoyed getting a song he loved on shuffle. The song of the night/morn was "Desert Song". A smile came to the corners of Mitchell's mouth once again, for he truly did love this song. When Toro's higher pitched guitar part kicked in, a slight breeze swept across and the branches of the trees shook as if in tempo to the beautiful song. Mitchell's hazel eyes fell to the ground and his feet. Truly, after all the s**t that he had been through, he was in agony, but at the same time, extremely callous. At this point, 12:14, the song had ended and moved on to "Dear Agony" by Breaking Benjamin. Mitchell found the fountain and sat down. As he sat down, a rain began to fall from the sky. He didn't know why, but he just began to weep. His eyes welled with tears. "I feel nothing anymore...just let go of me..." He was singing the song and his voice faded in and out of while he sang. Agony and depression have once again taken their black ragged arms and swathed themselves tightly against his body and mind. Mitchell continued to weep. It was 12:17.
Drenched. Not only was that the condition his hair, but it was the condition of his eyes. The song "Midnight, the stars and you" began to play. The sappy melody that began with piano and expanded into a full jazz ensemble filled his ears. This song was a beautiful piece of musical literature and that caused Mitchell to love it. For once, Mitch looked up and he saw a pair of crystalline eyes he had seen many times before. Maya Rei Reid stood before him. At this point, he was told to stop crying. That he had no reason to be crying. More tears flooded from his eyes when she said this. Agonizing pain went through his body. "Maya..." Mitchell's voice was flat, but full of sadness. "I-I-" His lips could not form words and sobs continued to come form his mouth. "I surrender all my love to you. Midnight, brought us sweet romance..."Yes. He did just being to spill the lyrics of the song he was listening to. Tears still ebbed down his face. Mitchell's hazel eyes met Maya's hazel eyes. "I-I'm su-su-sorry for all uh-uh-uh-of this...Just let me be...Just let..." Mitchell's train of thought came to a hault. Coughs began to come from his mouth and he spewed out saliva mixed with tears on to the ground. The song came to a close. It was 12:21.
Mitchell stared into the eyes of the human that held him. As soon as he could, he shoved himself away from her. "Just let go of me." he said. His voice flat and blasé. "Faceless enemy." he mumbled. Why yes, he did just quote "Dear Agony" but that is how he felt. "I don't know who you are anymore." Mitchell took a deep breath between the next phrase he had. "I don't even know who I am. In this time of my more or less rationality, I have to say this. Maya. I'm done with you. You are agony. What we had has swathed me in agony. And the memories are what have done this. I know you meant it when you said you loved me, but sometimes, I don't think I meant it. I don't think I meant it simply because I only said it cause I knew I could get laid." Mitchell took a deep breath in and shuddered from the anxiety of the moment. "I'm an a*s. I'm going to aim at your shins or even your heart when I move on from you. I could go for your friend or I could go for your enemy. Some guys just do this without warning, but I'm warning you. Stay away from me. I'm not worth it. I used you. I know, you'll hate this now, but I am at least telling you what I have done to you instead of just letting you fall slowly and find out from someone else. Good bye." Mitchell's eyes were reddened now and the tears on his face, which were now dry, were washing off his face from the rain. It was 12:28.
