Ocean's PullA Poem by ExposedSirenI went swimming at night, and found the ocean current stronger than usual. It was so much harder to get back to shore than I planned...
A lesson I should have learned long ago...
That I should not resist forces larger than me, Ancient powers beyond my control. Yet, I refuse for my future to be written, and as such, my fortune remains untold. In every moment, There are things I could shift, Push ever so slightly in, or out, of place. How do you know when to ride it out, or to pull away from the tide? You don't. That's the point.
