Come InsideA Poem by ExposedSirenEveryone needs a safe space
Close your eyes and come inside, but make sure you wipe your feet first.
You'll notice the piles of ash and debris outside my door, the remains of burned bridges and broken towers from past battles, and The mess left behind belongs here no more. The memory of clashing swords still brings back sounds that cacophonous rattle, continuously, Hauntingly, haunting me... Within my room there is a candle burning, small and cozy in the center, filling the air with the scent of fresh baked bread, or A storm cleaning and clearing the atmosphere... or Sunny flowers in a field, Yet you will find none here. It makes things warm and comforting, allowing for gentle conversations and easygoing smiles. Most never notice that my curtains are made of true rainclouds, sometimes blocking out the sun when I need it most... The glow-in-the-dark stars on my ceiling represent my hope, the dim fading light I hold on to when things are feeling grim. This is my home, the only one I have ever known, yet one I ache and yearn to one day leave. My bulletproof jacket hangs in my closet, awaiting the day that it returns to my warm embrace, offering protection and safety, Safety for the day that I decide to go out, Explore and adventure... I hope to someday leave these walls behind, but for now they create this space, Somewhere that I should probably remain. © 2015 ExposedSirenAuthor's Note
