Irresponsible doctors - and the consequences this brings

A Story by Om
"

A documentary into the various malpractices exercised by today's doctors. In this example, namely Dr Nirupama Parwanda of Zolie Skin Clinic in Kailash Colony, located in Delhi.

"
One commences treatment after consulting with the doctor. All fee structures are discussed & on that basis, a plan is formed. Suddenly, when needing to book the next appointment, the doctor continues to evade this & finally deploys their assistant to do their dirty work for them. The procedural price is artificially hiked threefold the market rate in order to deter the patient from returning.

What the real sting is here that following administering prior treatment on this patient, the doctor overlooks the side effects & complications which have arisen. The appointment is cancelled without the patient's knowledge...no follow-up appointment is made. Now the patient must frantically find another clinician to pick up from the lurch this doctor has left them in.

To add salt to the wound (quite literally - excuse the unintended pun), the patient is a doctor themself: which the doctor was fully aware of. The doctor rants that she found it "irritating" when the patient pointed to the area of concern (well breaking news...that is what forms part of taking a history & performing an examination which leads to forming a diagnosis). What kind of colleague courtesy is that? It really has become a dog-eat-dog & unforgiving world out there now. Survival of the fittest at its primal stages once again...shamefully. What's the point of boasting that you're a "gold medalist" & great dermatologist when you fail in the most basic areas - in this case, delivering care or actually treating the patient?
