Our toilet etiquette in India

A Story by Om

A report revealing just how clean we are when it comes to visiting the lavatory

Aw...what is that stench? An aroma comprising of rancidity, ketones, putrid & urine...as you enter public toilets. Urine & faeces scattered everywhere, mixed with pan spat on the walls. Broken apparatus...no flush, running water or soap - and nothing to dry your wet hands with. Why are most hospital & Sulabh DMRC metro station toilets in this state, the latter who charge for nothing? Even the professional class are guilty of not clearing up after themselves, even when the flush does work - I once caught them at their own game at work...a mix of being apathetic & lack of maintenance. We're worse than animals here! Let's learn to respect provisions for hygiene...and set an example! Shameful...I'll kindly spare all readers any graphical illustration. Pointless of having the Swacch Bharat campaign then...it hasn't made any difference!
