The harrowing Delhi metro

The harrowing Delhi metro

A Story by Om

A brief report highlighting the daily issue of misbehaviour encountered whilst commuting on the Delhi metro

"
Although the national capital "NCR" of India has been commended for coming a long way in forming an extensive mass rapid transit system, sadly its ridership still encapsulates it into the Stone Age.

I witnessed a young male (pic attached) aggressively refusing to offer his seat to an infirm senior woman. This was despite he being seated in the handicapped area, which is precisely designated for suchlike!

Needless to say, all other youngsters quietly watched on or rather supported his stance. The needy passenger requested for assistance from the control room but was denied any help. She left the train in tears after he pulled his middle finger up at her.

What has the world come to...? The patriacharcal society in the eastern world needs a revolution to encourage further female emancipation.

Sad to read that - especially in India where respect for elders is part of the culture.
