REPENTANCE

REPENTANCE

A Poem by DrD

I wear the scars of old passions

The woes and wounds of other days

When love was a word

And flesh was the messenger.

I bear the pains of past promises

Of lies and lessons freely given

When youth was forever

And the elder’s words were folly.

I wear the guilt of old romances

The guiles and games of vile intent

When my motive was me

In the last harvest of my youth

I feel the longing of some repentance

Forgive me all the unforgivable

And think not you were the victim

For it is I that needs to live in me.

The sentence is life
There is no getting away
My knees ache with the begging
Alone hurts, when it's for all the Wrong Reasons..

My chains rattle.. even in my dreams ..

Good One David .... Jazz
