![]() Calendar thoughtsA Poem by DrDI will not weep when
winter comes Though you loved to
walk on crispy snow Not one tear shed when
autumn’s done And biting winds begin
to blow Nor when the hearth
with chattering flames Reminds me when you
were here Pressed against me,
whispering my name None will tempt me to
release a tear When leaves of fall
paint my path Made spectacular by
death I will be deaf to your
echoed laugh Or the tender words
you said Nor will the gossiping
of the stony brook Force me to recall The winsome passion,
the luring look That made memories of
last fall I will find shade ‘neath
the umbrella oak Where once we sprawled
before the sun And I will forget the
words we spoke In the days when we
were young Nothing of summer will
bring to mind A second of all we
were It’s only a season
lost in time When everything was
safe and sure But spring, ah, how I
dread to see The earth pregnant and
so fulfilled It’s then I remember
you and me And I know I always
will. Buds and blossoms
returning again As if they had never
died And every thought and
image of then Comes back with the
question, why? © 2013 DrDReviews
