Alone togetherA Poem by DrDI
remember when you wore only moonlight And breakers
burst across the beach Starlight
danced upon your eyes And you
were mine more than I was me. We
found shelter within our arms While
the ocean moved upon itself A
gliding gull screamed goodbye And we
were marvelously alone. Your
touch was soft like cottoned clouds And your
smile invited a day past forever Never
was I more complete Than when
I gave myself to you completely. And
the moon waned away Stars
fell past the faint horizon Breakers
grew calm beneath a sliver moon And
like them, we were no more. © 2013 DrD |
