Cherry...I recognize you from pf...and yes, i think so. There is a need, as much as the need to write, to read the thoughts and heartaches of another. It is healing in some way to see others with the same afflictions as your own. To type the words...'yes...your poem is so relatable' is cathartic in some way I think.
I really enjoyed this work, i think you speak what is true for most of us for sure.
So many people become friends through poetry. We reveal a lot about ourselves between the lines. Still, no one knows for certain what is real and what is fantasy. "In the mood for your musings"....like that line! Lydi**
I really like you concept and delivery. I am drawn to this online community of writers primarily because of how it affords opportunities to be a participant observer in the human experience as expressed through writing, which includes an exchange of ideas, feelings, fears, hopes, dreams, meaning-making, and imagination. So much of writing is inspired by our own deeply personal questions and challenges and joys. Thus, there is a sort of intimacy, a "knowing and being known," that happens when we invite others into our inner worlds as represented by our writing. In these ways we cross-paths with a sort of psychoanalysis, in the popular usage of the word, though actual psychoanalysis tends to be much more technical and calculated (I don't mean to sound pedantic, but my training is in clinical psychology). Opening up our writing to the review of others in some way invites a sort of psychoanalysis, which is always risky. But the potential rewards are usually worth the risk. The psyche/soul is best when shared. The brain is a social organ. The mind loves community. All that to say, thanks for the poem and the thoughts it stirred in me.

I'm speechless, thank you for your wonderful review.
This poem reminds me of a smoky evening many years ago, delving into the our psyches, trying to unearth the others thoughts and understand our own. Good job.
Poets / reviewers are so many things but I think most of the time we are students, learning each day from the experiences shared and shared alike. We write thinking that our troubles, our pains, our joys and our happiness are unique to ourselves but quickly find by reading and reviewing another that we are not so different afterall. Great poem.
in some strange way, perhaps they are---but i think through others' poetry we are able to analyze ourselves just a bit better---since there are reflections of us in each writing.
i tend to stay away from analyzing the writers of the pieces...i usually look to see where i fit in...and how the writing expresses a part of my heart and soul.
Yes, they are. We all read intently the words on the page, especially if it is something well written and as intriguing as this piece and divulge our thoughts on the piece that may resonate with the writer or may not. Personally, I love when someone reads something into a piece that when writing it simply wasn't in my thoughts. If it is a valid point, you start thinking of was I thinking that subconsciously or was it just a happy accident. Usually, I have a problem with a write that I feel that I don't know where it came from and have difficulty believing I wrote it, then when others peoples views are brought into the mix, and they understand the message or meaning, I feel better for their input, which even sometimes changes the meaning of the piece entirely.
I love the fact that this piece is so effortlessly flowing, yet analytical at the same time. It really is a great piece.
