Our Dance

Our Dance

A Poem by Red Brick Keshner

`

Wherever I journey,
You're sure to tag along ;
Wherever I trip,
You break my fall;

Whenever I sleep,
Your heart beats;
Whenever I laugh,
Your smile glows.

Should your day be quiet,
Look at the sky and see
Me ride a cloudy steed
And sprinkle slivers of sun.

I am the fullness of soaking rain,
That choir of loud singing frogs
Whose chorus your spirit lifts
Beside my dreams day or night.

Lift up your sullen face,
Let yourself find a smile,
Our days move so swiftly
In life's convoluted journey,

As we quietly dance together
Let our souls always entwine,
Our thoughts together enmesh,
Until our paths cross once again.

Fresh, open, and free! I love how you show the ability to let go in positive light, though it has roots and hopes in rejoining together. Well done!

This could be read as a romantic message to a lover, but the hint afforded by the picture encouraged me to read it as from a parent to a child - and what a commitment to that child it suggests. This is a very special poem.

Perhaps poetry is the only palpitation of my thoughts and experiences. It becomes a commentary, a puppet theatre on what is observable and discernible from the vast expanse of the human condition. Eac.. more..
