Vincent's Dilemma

Vincent's Dilemma

A Poem by Red Brick Keshner
"

Tragically, Van Gogh died not knowing the acclaim his art would receive. Today his legacy is immortal and he will be forever known as one of the greatest artists of the modern era.

Vincent's dilemma:
Why is it that you have to be dead to be loved?

I should imagine he was an impossible man to be around - or to love. Did you watch that Doctor Who where they wrote about VG going back to see his own work in exhibition? I found it touching and heartbreaking. It should be a lesson to us all really, that the passion one feels for art - the compulsion - is something that can't really be paid for. It's like an awful itch that has to be scratched. Thought I would let you know as well that I have a couple of people I knew in Brisbane and that there's a speedpoets once a month there run by Graham Nunn. You can find his blog via Anotherlostshark.wordpress.com. I know these things are hard to find if you're out the loop so thought I'd mention it. Apparently its really laid back and friendly. :) Keep dry!
