Midway to Nowhere

A Poem by Red Brick Keshner

'I was born half alive,
the other half partly insane.'
she dribbles inaudibly,
grinning coquettishly;

and in between
there is no apology.

Even the deaf can fathom
underhanded effrontery.
She however, will not brandish fangs
without syrup.
