i was just talking about Tarkovsky the other day. this movie is incredible - i know exactly the scene you are talking about - it's just breathtaking. unlike any other scene in any film ever.
this writing was a great tribute. it made me feel what i felt while watching Mirror.
how's the novel going? i'll check the next chapter soon--

I am new to Tarkovsky, so thank you for introducing him and for the video posted which had some amazing visuals. Imagery has always been something I strive to get across in my own poetry. When I read, I want to see pictures. Your short three stanza poem captures perfectly images I saw in the video. Colour, shades, movement, weather, people, emotions. The first stanza is the one that spoke to me most. I admire what you have written here Freds. A word artist.

Most scripts would supply directions for cinematography and the chemistry between the artistic output of those involved in film making is quite poetic to observe and experience. I remember once taking instructions from the director but was deeply impressed by those given to me by the director of cinematography for a scene that would’ve taken 10 to 15 seconds at most but was filled with so much work and elements to pull off! Thanks Chris, for bringing up this aspect of the poem. I am well and truly chuffed to bits!

There are different methods of presenting poetry....there is the poetry captured in photographs, on canvas, with music...we are all poems in progress, revising our lives over and over again.

One of the greatest directors of cinematography; you honor him with worthy accolades. How nice of you to bring talent and support together in our modern times.
