A Poem by Red Brick Keshner

With some we connect but once and that once may not be enough, so the onus on us is to connect well.

Sad news from Texas, just a few hours ago; my first cousin (60) died suddenly, her brother, my other cousin, having passed 30 years ago after returning home from serving in the Gulf War. The last time we were in a room together was in 1978 a few days before they left for Austin. Part of me has shrivelled away. Sorry to bother.

Dear Freds, so sorry for this unexpected loss. Not the way you would wish to start a new year. My condolences to you as you grieve. It is not how often you meet with someone, but more the impression they leave on you. I’m sure you are reflecting on past times with your cousins.

Thanks Dylan, you are much appreciated 🙏🏻👍🏻🕊
This is really sad news...sometimes we realize too late that we have not spent enough time together with those who should be closest to us.
My sisterand I have connected for the first time...and we are in our mid to late 70's---we are taking full advantage of that.
I am sorry for your loss.

I'm sorry for your loss. Reading this has me thinking about the nature of connections; some are more profound than others. Then there are those that even death cannot erase.
Sending positive thoughts your way.

Thanks kindly. 🙏🏻 Loving the thought of death not being able to erase… somehow comforting.
