These are the days

These are the days

A Poem by redd Brick Keshner

There are days
that songs are stifled
on a weary and hoarse throat.
Notes no longer glide softly -
raking leaves strewn across
a barely littered lawn;
their butterfly wings
hung up in the wait
for another sunny day.

There are nights
that stars squander
their luminescence
on unappreciative lovers
roaming listlessly by
on a moonlit shore
their brilliant points
curl up in vain hope
of another cloudless night.

There are mornings
that sizzle on the stove
that sparkle sweet tangy-ness
hands clasping across the table
reliving life's love-filled moments
a warmth in the kitchen
reflects fervent esteem
done up in various colours
for each new morning.

To me love fills the air in a kitchen, after all fond memories come back at times while cooking up food. Makes me think back to when my grandmother was still around. Her country cooking was so good. Fondness of her memory still lingers. This is tugging, wonderful write

Hopeful dance of words and thoughts my dear friend. We must go forward without fear of failure. Seek joy over sadness. Thank you dear friend for sharing the wonderful poetry.'

Thanks Coyote! If there is hope then there is room for a dance of joy. Seeking!

In the overall picture, nothing matters other than love. You touched a nerve. I shed a tear. Fine poetry Freds.

Too often the little thing of beauty go unnoticed and unappreciated while we are caught up in other things we think more important are attended to. Loss of such moments do not return and are lost forever
