drawing blanksA Poem by Red Brick Keshnerconfessional styled free verseIn shadows creeping, perfume fades to grey, the scent of memories drifts like autumn leaves, each whisper of laughter slipping away, replaced by echoes of forgotten dreams. What once brought joy now ignites a spark of dread, as familiar faces blur in the twilight, the advice of friends, once a comforting thread, now tangled in a fog that swallows the light. I fear the stories buried deep in my mind, the laughter and warmth that could fade to whispers, each fleeting moment a thread I can’t bind, as the weight of forgetting tightens its grip, oh shivers. Yet in this fragile dance, I reach for their hands, the love that endures in the silence between, finding solace in connection that understands- even as shadows deepen, we still hold the sheen. So I breathe in the scent of what’s left of today, and cherish the laughter that flickers, though faint, for in this fleeting world, I choose to stay, holding tight to love that will never need restraint.
