in memory’s wake

in memory’s wake

A Poem by Red Brick Keshner

Do you remember? Would you know my gait
If only words were left to bear my truth?
While all else lies concealed behind the weight,
Perhaps our thoughts could bridge the lost in youth.

In conversation’s dance, our souls may meet,
Recalling days when we rode waves of verse.
With every line, the rhythm felt so sweet,
Yet now, it seems we’ve drifted- -just a curse.

If only you had shared my silent flight,
To linger in the echoes of the past,
Would memories ignite like stars at night,
Reminding us that bonds like ours can last?

So let us seek those moments once again,
And find the path where poetry began.

with some relationships, they are like a fire spreading. But then as the flames wither, the poetry loses intensity...and the words we write each other become shallow fragments of what used to be such intense verse.

My life is one poetic journey. If I am not reading or writing poetry, I simply live it. To me the experience of poetry should be such - to breathe it, create it, and receive it from poems and lives th.. more..
