as fleeting as life and verse may be, it is hoped the times we spent together shall not be forgotten in some form or some connection once our time off this carousel is over.

The numbering of days and the writing on the wall - the black sheep of the family lives on but not here not now for he has left this place and gone to another. Will he be redeemed by remembrance or is he to be forsaken and "so easily" forgotten? Good read, thanks for posting.

I can't get the opening line out of my head. The entire poem is top notch fred, but that opening line is a hauntingly beautiful and ever so deep well into which to sink.

A beautiful poem of recollection. Some people can have such an impact on ourselves, just as poets can with their writings. Some wonderful poetic expression here Freds. Much enjoyed are your lines and your thoughts.

What seems so important now can change radically with time. Even the most intense relationships may be seen as through a fog with the passage of fifty years.

So true, wise words, John.
What we keep and what we forget. Hard to say dear Frederick. When someone steal our mind and our heart. Become part of us. Us poets, we love to sing the praise of love. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

Decapitated and decaffeinated, however 2 more heads or cups arise! Hey Hydra!
Yes past relationships never truly die through recollections. I suppose they are lessons to be learned in our quest for sharing happiness. Nicely said Frederick.

It just never leaves us always in the background.
I feel this as a hard love, someone who wasn't easy to get, she played You toughly, while You kept wishing... a kind of unrequited love when You seem to feel for her more than she did. until she woke and loved You back, still the wound inside You have traces in You, she seemed to forget it all... like nothing happened and nothing she did. I maybe too far but the originality of your poem is strong and private.

I am sure it is something many question, I know I do though I am slightly embarrassed to admit it...but when we are gone, will those who read our writings, seemed to enjoy it and interacted with us, remember us? Will we at least be a passing thought at time or two. I know many poets I have met on these sites who are no longer a daily part of my life I still think about and is some cases, miss. Nicely done my friend.
