So very true. It will be up to future generations to find value in our work. Will we be remembered by our words and art? Ambition does not define worth. Those whose artistry is remembered as great is because they revolutionized their genre. They were unique and took chances. Non conformist. Yet their work resonated with an audience. Despite art being subjective each voice has an opportunity to create something lasting and memorable. Meaningful to the heart that yearns for something that speaks to them. Quite a few creatives never live to see the profound impact of their work. Very few are lucky to experience it while still alive. We can only hope our art finds a home in the heart of our audience.

Some of us here have written for posterity and don't/didn't know it. There are hundreds of poems on this site that are waiting for future writers to discover them. How much value they place on each is their decision. Each of us has our own paerticular likes and dislikes. BTW, the Smiths are a great group.

Sometimes I wonder about that exact thing, (if I am reading this correctly). What will become of these words, verses, stanzas, poems that we all write. Will this site just fold one day, disappear from the web or will the web itself be replaced by something other than what it is, a mind-controlled venue maybe tailor fit to each human being, oh wait, I got off topic. So, what will happen to our poetry? Do you think someone may pass by 50 years from now and become inspired by what they read? I wonder, did Van Gogh ever wonder the same about his art? Hmm, I wonder, will anyone like my art in 2022? Just some thoughts your poem brought to me which have now become a whole lot longer than your poem.

Thanks Will, that's quite a bit of thinking! Your visit and thoughts are much appreciated.
I wonder if there will be a future to be remembered IN
Or, for how long
Even the sun is dying
I say, rejoice in the words now, throw them out into the all. In the end, poetry will be here long after humans destroy themselves and their planet. Poetry is of the gods who predated us.

That is a true and valid thought.
or end up being known for surrendering one's ear!
not my first choice!
waste of time attempting to decipher
open the doors of freedom
welcome yourself back to reality!

Gee
Laughed at John's comment.
Would be nice to think that a couple of poems will be remembered and read post mortem
