The poem had me thinking of Gladiator and the Roman arena whereby duels to the death are better on.

Oh yes, that is an image within the realm of this poem's world. Children were among those brutalised in the arena in the first century.

There's alot of playful alliteration here and I do like the shape of your words. Pointed and sharp, always dangerous for a child. Nice one Freds.

A thousand pardons Chris for the delay in responding to your review. I was meaning to get back to it but we were away last week and internet was not readily available either. Now I am faced with this week-old comment which is much appreciated and well enjoyed. Anything that concerns injustice and poses danger to children makes one quite incensed!
