Ode to Wright

Ode to Wright

A Poem by Red Brick Keshner

Thanksgiving began at the serpentine steps along the Ohio
and all the way to a bicycle shop between Wolf Creek and the Great Miami River such a distance we drove and sought our place---

a witness beginning from Covington's grace, across the river its humble Notre Dame, before its conflagration and much earlier that first footfall at the grand CVG where we touched down; from the vast and worthy fort and miles beyond Dallas, we made our way home to Monroe.

How amazing that in the birthplace of aviation we move about with sheer mobility; a grand experience that has opened skies world over and now at least we arrive at the hearth of a Christmas sojourn that brings joy and cheer.

Its wonderful how each passing stage bring in a new technological change and yet everything remains the same. The feels of it basically.

You're welcome
Your opening stanza reminds me of Wallace Stevens. Wonderfully constructed.

Incredible the achievements of some. Their drive and ambition and how as a result of it, the world is now a much smaller place. I'll always remember my first flight, trip from London to Paris. I was 19. Great read Freds.

And in making it smaller making our experience of it bigger. Cheers Chris!
this poem speaks to the power of man's ambition and how it's only limited by the limitations of imagination. If you want something bad enough and are willing to go for what you want the sky truly is unlimiited.

Very nice read Fred

Thank Ken e, you are too kind.
and when I see that sleigh fly overhead on Christmas Eve, I shall thank Orville and Wilbur...
it is amazing what we can do now, considering back then no one believed man could fly.
