A Poet's Charge

A Poet's Charge

A Poem by Red Brick Keshner

`

keeping our heads
close to the ground!
so we can hear
the little creatures cry
almost voiceless
and certainly unheard
but with our pens
scream to the sky!

Very good write Frederick =-)
As poets, our creative souls see our external world differently than most, we hear that which is unheard as you said. In addition to this, our inner voices, really our inner selves; beneath the flesh, comes out every time we write.
I related to this poem in many ways.
Thanks for sharing =-)

Thanks Audie. And yes, if eyes are windows to our soul then poetry is its voice.

Tis a gift to put what others are feeling into words so that all can understand. There are some top notch poets doing just this in the cafe.
Enjoyed reading your words Frederick

And that is what we celebrate and validate. Thanks, Gee!
This is an enchanting little poem with more meaning than meets the eye. I love its rhyme scheme and its very shortness lends to its intrigue. It keeps ringing in my mind.

Thanks Soren, you are much appreciated.
As poets we can sing the praises of others, who would otherwise be unheard. And we can sing the praises of the smallest of nature's wonders too. Well said, sir!

How amazing that You could do it with just these lines! to be EVERYTHING, one and whole. as much as a poet is proud, as much as he should be humble. Very wonderful my friend. Thank You~

Thanks, friend.
Good morning Frederick,
Loved your little poem... So so clever and fun to read early this morning.
Poets have the gift to express their thoughts...and, speak for many that do not.

With the poets observational eye, ears and mouth, we can speak for those people who can't speak for themselves. Our poetry, our chosen words, representing the thoughts and feelings of others, on the page for all to read. Quite a responsibility on a way. Thanks Frederick.

Be the voice for those unheard! Poetry is an art letting you express yourself. However we csn use it to our advantage to convey inportsnt messages, to help the little creatures who find no hope. This is a call to action, it seems. Well penned!
