not a stutterer's poem

A Poem by bred Brick Keshner
"

This is one of the many reasons why poetry is important to me. The freedom and licence to express outwardly what lay within.

"

like myself
my poems sometimes
choke on their words
sometimes they falter
like myself
when there is something
that has to be said
sometimes the words
won't come out as they should
and neither would I

Author's Note

bred Brick Keshner
As I child, I had a terrible stammer
and although it has now almost completely gone
there are certain moments wherein
I find myself hesitating mid-speech,
which is why I have chosen to speak less
in the rather vain hope that I could write more,
but as stated above, even that is sometimes a difficult task.
And often than not, it would seem safer to keep silent.
This is one of the many reasons why poetry is important to me.
The freedom and licence to express outwardly what lay within.

About
….socially awkward poet. Childhood stammerer… intentionally driven to writing rather than speaking. And yes, that’s where that vibe is sourced… so your kindness is truly, ge.. more..
