A preview of tonight's Leafs/Blues game

"

The Toronto Maple Leafs are playing a team tonight similar to the Dallas Stars.  The St. Louis Blues.

The inconsistency is plaguing both the Stars and the Blues.

In fact, the Blues fired head coach, Ken Hitchcock yesterday because of their mediocre performance this year.

However, the Leafs have to compete tonight in order to win.

On Tuesday night, the Leafs showed no effort in the game against Dallas.  The team got thumped by the Stars 6-3.

"We didn't compete hard enough to have any kind of success whatsoever," said Leaf's head coach, Mike Babcock.

The Blues have a 24-21-5 overall record, but have a good home record, 16-8-4.  That's something the Leafs have to be aware of tonight.

January's rookie of the month, Mitch Marner, is first in team points (41) and assists (29).

The best player on the Blues is Vladimir Tarasenko.  He has 22 goals, 27 assists for a total of 49 points.
