Grandparents/school-fetch

Grandparents/school-fetch

A Poem by Ewen A Morrison
"

As a happy family man and Grandparent, I enjoy the range of opportunities involved, including 'school-fetching' - bound to inspire a poem...

"

When arriving, school gates, Bill's there too,

Pleasantly awaiting, exchanged some words;

Where family awaits, meeting pupils, a few.

Children emerging school: then homewards!

Old-timers, the new-age schooling we see:

Childhood pleasures - education's embrace.

Blossoming education, for mind to be free,

Evolutionary souls are blessing Alba's race!

Children, future learning's truly enhanced:

Adults are citizens...politically 'sovereign'.

Parents thus bred, raised, and honestly led;

'We are the people': Alba/Scotland sustain!

                                                  E.A.M.
