Life's Pact

Ask: what truly feeds the soul?

must know this to wish the goal -

it is difficult to teach one's child...

while fine values form and build.

True Gems, dealt by our fate -

beside dreams, aim to collate...

Life: teacher, provider of mine;

counsel, while passing time.

Gladness of heart is so good -

building surely to adulthood...

gaining age, and wisdom too;

treads great, losses are few.

What wisdom shall we gain -

does learning quell the pain?

will the summery of wealth

give measure of our health?

Wisdom, whenever will dawn -

should be felt, if it isn't shown...

we have gained, as have grown;

as for acumen; we cannot own!
