Stornoway's Child

Stornoway's Child

A Poem by Ewen A Morrison
"

Ewen Angus Morrison, born in Stornoway in 1957. He adores art - written and painted - writes poems and the practice of painting himself!

"

Blessed  in names of two good men

A future 'meeting' - yes - but when

Ewen first name and Angus middle

Grouped together - saluting riddle

Close friends, naming me  ''Yin''

Was 'mini-English' for my Ewen

Hearing inclusive use of 'Angus'

Traditional naming touched us

Maturing minds... enlarging souls

Respecting, honouring same-goals

Grandson, named after granddads

A happy child blessed by both lads

Highland beauty threading hearts

Carrying worship of work and arts

Echoing family love and it's 'fealty'

Thanking the goodness and reality.
