The Ones to KeepA Poem by Evy Morgan-AndersonA poem about what real friendship isThese are the ones to keep. The ones who make you laugh so hard your stomach hurts, and you can’t breathe. The ones who make you giggle so hard you have to try to muffle your laughter so you don’t get in trouble (but sometimes you do). The ones who make you roll on the ground, unable to stand. These are the ones to keep. But not just these ones. Keep those who wrap you warm in their arms. The ones who let you cry all over their shirt. The ones who follow you when you run to hide. The ones who care how you feel. These are the ones to keep. But not just these ones. Keep those who care about more than themselves. The ones who are angry about the world. The ones who are hopeful for change. The ones who are not afraid to speak their mind. The ones that love too deeply. These are the ones to keep. These are the ones to keep. They will not leave when things get hard, When you fight, When you push them away. When times are fun, they only add good. These are the ones to keep. © 2017 Evy Morgan-AndersonAuthor's Note
