You

You

A Poem by E.V. Black
"

We only met twice, the first as fleeting as a glance.

"

We only met twice,

the first as fleeting

as a glance.

The second, we talked.

Behind that counter,

we waited for people

to approach.

We talked on,

you making me laugh

and I making you laugh.

When we departed,

I found that you

were with me.

I am filled to the brim.

Unceasingly, your face

flutters into my head

and sticks there.

I am forced to think of you,

but it is not

against my will.

I wish to meet you again

(and I know that I will).

Our meeting is inevitable,

be it only for

the fewest moments.

I want to see you,

so please stay.

E.V., This is a good poem... It reads well.

Do you need the word "that" in this poem? Most times, the word can be eliminated and it still sounds fine, sometimes better.

Keep writing. You do nice work.
