![]() Atrophied AttractionA Poem by E.V. Black![]() An old man flirts with a young girl.![]() Skin so worn it could have been old leather. Eyes greedy and needy for attention to a piteous soul. He approached me, a withering man at least forty years my senior, with an unsure voice and shaking hands.
I wondered at what he could possibly want from me, a stranger. Turned out he wanted me. Those eyes, starting to sink into sockets, roved over me. Disgust rose well and thick within me. How badly I longed to escape the confines of this sudden trap!
Gently, I relinquished his hold on me with evasive answers to prying, invasive questions from an old man afflicted with atrophied attraction for a young girl. Can one imagine the level of discomfort endured? It is not a position to be desired. © 2021 E.V. BlackAuthor's Note
